Downland Flowers and Butterflies

See below for available dates

Start point: Woods Mill, Henfield - then minibus to key sites

High summer on the downs and the short turf grassland is at its peak with orchids and other specialist flora attracting the rich insect life that abounds here. Any sunny day will see hundreds of butterflies enjoying the nectar of the grassland flowers. Perhaps the most beautiful are the adonis and chalkhill blue, but other species such as the marbled white are a strong possibility. Orchid species could include bee orchid, common spotted or common twayblade and other flowers may include the round-headed rampion. This course day is excellent for both those new to wildlife photography as well as more accomplished photographers as there is such a wealth of subjects.

After meeting at woods Mill we use a minibus to visit several key sites across the downs in search of both flora and butterflies. Species may vary with conditions and none are guaranteed.

As we use a minibus on this workshop, spaces are limited to eight.
